We’ll always have Long Duk Dong

The entertainment industry lost many industry greats recently. Just as we started to move on from the loss of Farrah Fawcett, Billy Mays, and of course Michael Jackson, the passing of John Hughes took over the news cycle.

John Hughes was best known for directing what can only be described as an iconic movie genre: the 80s. He brought us Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Pretty In Pink, Weird Science, Breakfast Club (to name a few) and left us with the soundtrack to our teen years. The memories of his movies are cinematically accompanied by sometimes swelling, often pounding, yet always angst-inducing tracks. These are some of the tributes we’ve enjoyed; please feel free to suggest your own!

Pop over and see what the folks at JoBlo put together.

Then there’s the fandom on YouTube:

Men.Style.com also put together a spiffy montage.

Finally, Simple Minds, planning their own tribute while on tour.

R.I.P. John Hughes.

“Life moves pretty fast. You don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” – Ferris Bueller

  1. What happened to the Cool TV channel in the Dallas market? We used to watch it all the time from when we finally had conversion, and now we’ve rescanned twice and it’s not there. We want our Cool TV Channel back.
